How does the buttstock attach to the rife or to an adapter like the brobee?

The buffer tube is threaded on the end and screws into the lower receiver on a rifle and to the threaded hole on the adapter.
Edited to change upper to lower..DOH!!

Is there something that keeps it from unscrewing during use and keeps it in line with the rifle?

AR stocks are locked with screw-on lock rings.
