I just finished a dissipator build this week. Components as follows:
- Armalite AR15 lower marked 5.56 Nato
- KNS push button pivot and take down pins
- KNS anti-walk, anti-rotate hammer and trigger pins
- Jard adjustable trigger assembly
- DPMS ambi safety
- CAA CBST butt stock
- Single point sling attachment for use with a chest rig
- Magpul enhanced trigger guard
- Cerro forge A2 upper
- Tapco carry handle range finding scope
- RRA BCA
- ASA 16" barrel assembly with midlength gas system chambered for 5.56
- ASA single rail faux gas block w/triangular handguard cap
- UTG 4 rail rifle length aluminum handguards
- Leaper's flip up front sight
- YHM A2 flash hider
- Leaper's Swat/Tactical bipod (Marstar sells 'em but I won't say what I paid in the US)
- Beamshot laser and flashlight
The base paint coat on the upper is duracoat desert tan, a camo scheme will follow when I decide what pattern. The CAA butt stock was also suppose to be desert tan and obviously doesn't match. I really wish the industry would standardize the colours. Looks like I'll have to paint the CAA to match. I didn't paint the lower because I have other uppers without a camo scheme.
Don't laugh at the UTG handguards. They are rock solid and I have a similar set on my 14.5" CQB. Never lost zero yet with my Aimpoint. Besides, I don't work in the sandbox and can't see spending more on rails than I would for a nice shotgun.
It took almost 10 months of gathering the parts when I could find them, especially with the shortage experienced during the last year. It was worth it though. I built it from scratch with help from ARF.com and the Brownells DIY vids and pdf files. I learned a hell of a lot. I've built others but they were kit guns and fairly easy.
Right now she's been laser bore sighted for the scope and irons and I will be taking her to the range on Saturday for zeroing.
