I've been debating upgrading my BCG with the Buffer Technologies extractor upgrade kit...not that I've had any issues with my rifles cycling properly, but is it a very helpful upgrade? For what it costs it wouldn't really bother me if it somehow turned out to be the most useless upgrade ever, but is it even worth doing?

Buy it as a spare and just run the current one until it breaks/worn. No sense throwing away good money if it ain't broke. :)

Edit: my bad, thought it was the full extractor not just the o-ring/spring pieces.

Not an expensive option, but not a required one...
You can get a lot of spare springs for that price.
As you said, you don't have any extraction issues. Why fix something that is not broken?
It won't improve the performance of your gun either.

Very true.
And that's pretty much what I was questioning...the performance factor. If it's one of those upgrades that pretty much doesn't do much but allows you to have that particular bragging right, then I guess that it's just that. I'm sure that somewhere on some rifles, it does have its perfect place, but as stated above, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" That's pretty much where I fit in...

I'm just looking for something else to upgrade...what an itch thes AR's create!!!!

Thanks guys.

Yessir. Although if timed right with the proper combo of buffer and bcg, sbr should run reliably without
