Kinda new to ARs...... used to have a basic one ,plus C7 army days , but now think I'm getting a race car version for comp

Anyhow ..... I don't like the look of it's handguard .... like blocky 4 sided picatinny style

Wondering besides on this site .... who stocks minty round type perforated handguard with like 1 basic picatinny point on top ..... colt competition ar -15s handguards is what I think I'm after but they closed there doors in canada i think or something .... and affordable

Just wanna get ahead of the game if I do go ahead and get this AR and do in fact don't like the handguard

It's a 12.5" noveske .... so think the handguard is like 9"

Thanks in advance..... looking up noveske now and others ... alternatively anyone have what I'm looking for by chance ?

There are so many options for you its staggering :)
I would have a look at True North Arms to begin with, one of many suppliers who support CGN, CTCS, or any of the AR specific advertisers. If you prefer a round fore end Hogue make some nice ones, good luck in your search

If you just want something basic, round, with a fully railed top I can think of two rather affordable options.

ALG makes very affordable rails, and so does Troy.

Check Arms East for ALG and I think Rampart for Troy.
Or just check brownells, can always find parts there.

The "low profile" handguards use a different barrel nut than the quad rail handguards. I think most of them come with the required nut, but I would make sure before ordering. Also when you order it, get some extra barrel nut shims. You will likely need one or more to get the picatinny rail lined up with the top of your receiver. I needed an extra thick one just to get my barrel tightened up when I swapped out the quad rail on my JR carbine.

Hey thanks guys ..... ya rampart might have one that I like for $200

But now I'm wondering if it's drop in style or free float style - ughghhhhhh .... lol ... too many options

Oh ok Working man thank you big time .... roger that .... I'm sure the 3 gun champs at my club will help my decipher this AR ..... plus once i strip clean and pull it apart .... but thanks for the warning

Have you ever looked at an f1 AR? Pretty neat

Aero Precision Atlas S-one or R-one for full top rail. They make a 9". Low profile and light. come with the new barrel nut. $180ish. Sask Gun works carries them, So Does Red deer Shooting Centre. I see youre from Reddeer, swing by and take a look in person. I have 2 and theyre amazing

And yes your correct ..... was probably gonna take to RdSC to go talk about modifying and say take my money then go sight it in and shoot my handguns ..... wicked !

Still gotta get the thing ........ worse than a kid on Xmas morning ..... dam guns .... dam I wanna shoot something

RDSC has a ton of options. I would talk to the guys there. They will go through your whole build and work with ya to ensure you get what you need for what you want to do.
