Just guessing but I would say 7 to 9 pounds.c1979 said:What is the trigger weight of a standard armalite ar-15 out of the box?
c1979 said:What about match triggers for longrange competion, what do people think of the
chipmccormick drop in trigger system. what system would fit into the armalite, would it be the small hole pin size or the large hole pin size. What is the differrence between single stage and double stage. Thanks

When I tried my AR out on the range, I was a bit concerned about the audibly slower "lock time" of the hammer when I pulled the trigger. The JP hammer spring is quite a bit weaker than the OEM spring. Sure enough, I was able to "beat" the gun's cycling when firing a rapid fire string of 6 rounds with the trigger pull. I then reinstalled just the OEM hammer spring, which put the trigger weight back up to about 6 lbs...but I could not "beat" the gun cycling after I reinstalled the OEM hammer spring, leaving the JP trigger spring and return spring in place. It's plenty light enough for Tac Rifle and is bog reliable.

KevinB said:Personally I find the Armalite Match trigger autrocious -- I had one in my AR10T -- I promptly swaped it for a KAC one.
I find them grittier than the three other Match triggers I have experimented with.
Even Diemaco adds the KAC trigger to the C7CT - given their cheapskate mentality towards somethings it shoudl tell you something.
