AR 15 - Mounting BUIS & ACOG Clone

Okay, so here's the scenario:

I purchase a Bushnell ACOG clone (1 x 32 Trophy) for one of my AR's.
Nice scope, and it (absolutely) co-witnesses perfectly with the front sight. It does not, however, have a quick detach mount.

Now, I want to mount a rear BUIS on my AR that will fold under the ACOG clone. Not so much the issue; but getting that damned scope off in order to use the BUIS is turning out to be an ordeal. (Tension knobs falling off, etc, etc)

So my question is this: Is there a mounting system (i.e. quick detach, etc) which would allow this to happen, without messing up the absolute co-witnessing, (i.e. mounting the scope too high) OR would mounting the rear BUIS ahead of the ACOG be an alternative approach? (i.e. using the BUIS through the ACOG without illumination turned on). ??

Ideas, comments info? Thanks!

Hi, I have your same site. I believe there is a bolt or something underneath the sight that you could remove to take the cheapie mounting system off. Then you could then mount the scope to one of those Larue (not sure if that is it or not) quick detach mounts. It would require some drilling and fitting to be done to the mount, but could be done. I don't think there is an "easy" fix to do what you want. I may look to do it as well, since I REALLY hate the factory mount on it, but I really like the site. I am not concerned with the open site thing like you, I just hate those little offset thumb screws.

Might want to consider some GG&G mounts instead of the expensive Larue gear if you want to go on drilling and chopping it.

I've seen a GG&G quick release for the ACOG, not sure if it would fit this scope.

For my ACOG with factory mount & thumb screws I have a modified washer I keep on my keychain. It worked great when I tried a couple different BUIS and needed to remove my ACOG sight then in each time.
