Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any restrictions on purchasing AR items from Brownells?

Specifically looking for lower receiver parts. Any information would be great.

Thanks

Have never had an issue myself. Usually, Brownells is pretty good at specifying whether an item CANNOT be shipped out if the US. As long as you are $100 and under, you're good to go without paper work...anything over that amount up to $500 will require an end-user statement to be filled out...which I will add, is very easy to submit.

Some brands can't be exported out of the US like Magpul, BAD etc. but other than that, no probs with AR parts provided your total is under $500.

Edit: I should add, some parts can't be shipped out of the US without an export permit like barrels, uppers, muzzle devices.

Thank you for your interest in Brownells. As of July 8th, 2013, our Dept. of State did recognize the ITAR, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, exemption raise in dollar values of $100.00 to $500.00 for gun component parts only. Regulated items still require an export license, regardless of their value or quantity. Under the new exemption, our Dept. of State requires an end-user statement to be kept on file for the specific order the exemption is being utilized for.

This is the email I received from Brownells last month when I placed an order for a MGI bolt, Vltor stock and a DD 7.62 muzzle brake, I had to complete a End User Statement and send it back, took about a week before they shipped my order minus the DD brake, my guess is DD have signed an exclusive distributor contract with Wolverine Supplies.

I imported a BAD safety and extra levers last month from Brownells. No paperwork and no problems.

What?! I tried to order the same ambi safety last fall and they said BAD couldn't be exported. I didn't see them on the 2014 list of ITAR registered manufacturers.

Got my B.A.D. lever from Brownells also.

Hbean...did the DD brake you ordered become an "out of stock" item while your particulars were being approved?

I ordered the BAD ambi from Saskatoon Gunworks with free shipping during their Boxing Week sale so it worked out. Good to know now.

I've twice had Brownells remove muzzle brakes from my order. I'm told brakes fall into the same category as barrels and uppers where you need an export permit.

all muzzle devices are regulated and need an export permit ( with a 60% non- approval rate)-----straight from Sandy

Nothing I've ordered has been denied except for mags greater than 10 rounds... Even for .22lr.

I used my own tutorial

Thank you for your interest in Brownells.

Our Dept. of State has deemed flash hiders/suppressors, compensators and muzzle brakes as SME, significant military equipment.

At this time we are not apply for export licenses for these items as company policy.

Thanks,

Niesje

They have an 'available outside of the US' filter on their website so you should know subject to the dollar limits if something can be shipped.
