Hi there,

I am looking to get a EOTECH 552 to put on to my AR-15 with KAC RAS II. Since the RAS II has an extention that will shorten the upper rail. Does anyone know will I have enough space to mount the 552 on? Your advise is greatly appreciated!

It will fit but obviously the sight will have to be pushed back since the RAS II takes up a bit of rail real estate. You can also mount that on the RAS II as well.

IMO it's going to look weird either way because the RASII was made to work with an Aimpoint. KAC even makes a mount for it specifically for the RAS II.

Thanks everyone for their feedbacks and advises! I am still deciding between the Aimpoint or Eotech, does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you honestly be beeding the 552's night vision capacity and/or it's ability to be submerged up to 33 feet. If not get yourself a 511, cheaper as it does not have a bunch of features you will never use and since it uses "N" batteries it is shorter

With a much shorter battery life, 200 hrs vs. 1100 hrs using AA lithium. Nothing wrong with the civie version, or the bushnell for that matter, but I'd get an AA version.

True but when are you going to be more than 8 hours on the range. Like I said if it's for a range queen then most of the options are useless. But if it's for field use then it's a completely other story. The problem with the AA verison in this case is that it's to long for his setup. Last I heard L3 was still making the optical system for bushnell so the only difference betwin a eotech and a bushnell is the extra external armor that is required for field use but not realy a factor on a range queen.

In the end it comes to weather or not you are ready to spend for the cool factor or not.
