AR 15 tactical scope question

I want to change the configuration of my RRA A4 16" from carry handle iron sights to optics. I've often seen US marine combat footage where the M16 is fitted with a regular scope and not an aim point or other red dot system. Im planning on doing my target shooting from 100 to 300 yards. What scopes would be recommended for this while still giving it a tactical military look? As well, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg and would settle for non military grade scope. In other words made in China and or bushnell and other household names would suffice. Not trying to break the bank just looking for a look and functionality.

The Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 scopes are designed for just that role, and should be just over $400 new. It all depends on what "tactical" means to you.

I would say if 5x zoom is enough for you. check out the Burris 536. It's a good looking scope, and the glass is damn nice.
