No its not possable.

Becuase 308 is a much longer round, the action is bigger and the lower 's magwell is longer /wider to accept the round and the mags (M14/FN).

wouldn't say impossible, but you have to start with the right AR

If you can get an AR15 to work with 7.62NATO ...all the more power to ya
