just wanted to konow if someone can tell me the torque specs for my AR-15 building my first AR need barrel torque ,buffer nut torque and muzzle brake torque or if theres a pdf file on it

thanks

  • Receiver extension castle nut torque: 38 to 42 ft/lbs or 51.5 to 56.9 N.m
  • Muzzle device torque: 46 to 51 ft/lbs or 62.4 to 69.1 N.m
  • Barrel nut torque: 30 to 80 ft/lbs or 40.7 to 108.5 N.m

N.m for newton-metres.

For your barrel nut it is a good idea to torque it then unscrew it and torque it again three times to get it good.

Hope this helps!

hay is the buffer tube 38-42 ft.lbs or INCH POUNDS?

It is indeed FOOT pounds. There was a misprint way back when in a manual in the US that said inch pounds by mistake and that mistake tends to get repeated around the net, but current manuals are corrected to say foot pounds.
