AR-15 trigger question

So, my AR build is pretty much complete, and I am very happy with the results. However, the only thing really bothering me is the trigger. I used a DPMS LPK on mine, and the trigger is quite gritty due to machining marks on the surfaces where the trigger and hammer meet.

Would it be safe to lightly sand the surfaces just enough to remove the marks to smooth out the trigger, or will this pose a safety risk?

Yes very carefully, If you have a set of lansky stones try them.......perfectly flat and fine stone does a beautiful job

You may find that using sand paper could make it worse. Try using a very fine stone instead and take you time!!!
