I participated in a small arms carbine combat class and after about two mags worth started to have FTF problems in my 18 month old AR-180 -b. It was jamming on every bullet fed from the right side and occasionally jamming on the left. This is a fast action class and I transistioned to my glock 40 side arm. At break, we looked at the firearm and saw no problem except that the bullet was getting stuck on the feed ramps and was gouging up the bullet quite a bit. I tried several mags , same problem. I transitioned back to my VEPR K RPK with kobra red dot. Yes ,I live in the states. I was planning to use my VEPR in the AM and after lunch switch to the AR to get to use both systems under stress. We shot 800 rounds--------740 in the VEPR and 60+ through my now broke 180.

The VEPR was rock solid and with the Kobra I had very tight groups. I was the most accurate in eight shooters but a little slower with mag changes. Another problem with the VEPR is the weight --10 -pounds loaded with the red dot installed. It got heavier as the day went on.

I real like the 180-b , its accuracy , and its light weight. I bought it for its gas system and what I hoped for better reliability. At home I found a burr on the right side feed ramp. Before I took a file to it I thought I call Armalite. They told me to send it in even though its out of warranty. They said they would fix it up for me an apologized for my inconvenience. I just shipped it there and will wait to see what happens. They told me 2-3 weeks. Time will tell how this all plays out. I hope they can fix it and I gain my trust with this weapon system since it is a favorite of mine and anybody I let shoot it.

Has anybody else had FTF issues with the 180-b ?

One other issue I learned in class. Telescoping stocks are the way to go . Full size stocks become troublesome when moving , ducking, running ,etc while shooting . For the long shots ---extend the stock, anything else minimize it.Everybody had AR-15 platforms except me and one other person with a M1-a. Five of the Six Ar's had jams. So out of the group, my 180 died, 5 ar 's had problems and one AR , the M1-a and VEPR-k in 7.62 X39 ran flawlessly. In the pistols, one glock 17 and S&W .40 had feed issues. We all carried 4 rifle mags and 3 pistol mags. We were all loaded up and half the class used 3 point slings and the rest used single point slings. Two of the members wore armor. It was a very good class and we were all sore the next day. I'll let you all know the outcome in hopefully a couple of weeks. Any feed back would be appreciated.

It needs updating, but this page will solve all your problems. Simple fix that will cost you pennies.

Since doing this I've had no FTF, I have had only one FTE in the past 4 years and that was due to not cleaning the rifle for 3 matches.

If this does not solve your problem, drop me a PM and we'll get it figured out.

you might need to put a bit of jb weld on the front of the trigger guard between it and the mag
that will tip the bullets up a bit more and no more jamming
I think i read that off of armedsask webpage
used the idea and it worked great
