Ar-180b acog?

Hello, pardon me if this isn't the correct forum, I was torn between this one and Optics but I thought I'd have more luck here.

I recently bought an AR-180B. I am now looking for optics to put on it. I thought I made my mind up with an ACOG (imitation, TA01NSN). But taking a closer look I am concerned it may not fit on the AR-180B.

Basically I am going to order the Weaver rail adapter for the AR-180B from Stormwerkz, not sure between the long or short one. This should allow me to mount the ACOG (why did they make this strange proprietary mount on the AR?!?) but I am afraid I won't be able to mount it far enough at the back of the rifle to make it usable. The eye relief on that ACOG is 1.5' and already feels very short, now because of the iron sights on the AR it looks like it won't be able to go as far back as it needs...

Has anyone had luck mounting one of those on an 180B? Was it usable or did you have to put the rear iron sight in your face to be able to see anything..? Any other recommendations?

I just bought a AR180B as well, and will be taking it out on the range tomorrow. I will be sighting in the irons. I have been thinking of getting one of the Armalite proprietary mounts or the Stormwerx rail. As far as optics go, I was going to get something that matches the eye relief needed, so you may want to buy optics to match the AR180B instead of vice versa... so far the AR180 has met my expectations, easily stripped, cleaned and assembled again.

Get the Stormwerkz rail. The proprietary mount is garbage.

i got the long stormwerkz rail. it fits great.. i'd recommend putting a strip of scotch tape on the underside of the rail so no contact rubs marks get made if youre anal about marking up your guns. havent had a chance to shoot it yet.
