Hi all,

I just finished 2 AR-180B builds using Nodak Spud lowers and Stormwerkz folding stock adapter kits. In the spirit of trying to keep them looking as close to original AR-180/180B's as possible, I used the original stocks as manufactured with the 180Bs. The rifles feel great, look great (if you like this kind of rifle) and shoot great. My main dilemma now is, how do you sling her? A single point sling is out of the question as only the upper has a sling loop on the gas block. The original 180B's have a rear sling loop on the bottom of the pistol grip. I can't seem to find any AR pistol grips anywhere online or at my LGS that have a sling loop on them. Is there any kind of special sling that fits over the buttstock that would work? If so what Canadian retailer carries them? Any other ideas? Surely I'm not the only one with this dilemma.
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

The Nodak lowers are great. Almost like a new rifle. The 18/180/180B is really a good system. The fact that they made the lowers on the 'B' models accept AR-15 trigger components and STANAG magazines yet still accept the original uppers was nice. I actually finally had a polymer lower break at the hinge on a used 180B I bought at an auction some years back. I never abused it (I still have my 2007 vintage 180B I bought brand new and nothing has ever broke on it after 8000 rounds) but I had it out in some cold weather which might have accelerated an already forming failure. The previous owner might have abused it or it might have been part of that run of defective polymer and it just didn't fail until now. Who knows? The Nodak lower gave it a new lease on life and I bought several more Nodak receivers for the others.
Not everyone's cup of tea but variety is the spice of life as they say.

Brownells new retro stuff has an early style pistol grip - no finger grooves, and a place for a sling loop.

If you start with www dot Brownells dot com and cut and paste this on the end:

/rifle-parts/grip-parts/pistol-grips/ar-15-retro-pistol-grip-prod109338.aspx?avs|Make_3=AR-15&avs|Manufacturer_1=brownells

you'll get there.

And if you ever need replacement 180B parts, our large product release date is the end of March at the Calgary Gun Show...here's a little taste of it. :)
