Hi all! I just picked up a AR-7 that is having problems feeding the ammo. I'm not sure what era it is from but is has the "Chambers" stamp on the side of the receiver. It sure doesn't look like the gun was used much but if it was operating like this all time, no wonder! Can some one shed some light on this rifle? Is this common and is there a fix? Thanks to all!

ar-7

i have had several of these rifles, all were jam o matics regardless of the ammo, if you insist on torturing your self further, pm me and i will send you some new mags cheep, the marlin papoose is 10 times the gun for the money, hope your ar 7 works out for you moosebeans.:)

Thanks for the input guys. I didn't purchase this gun cause I wanted one, the price was right(or maybe not!!:( ) so I couldn't let it pass. Thanks for the offer moosebeans. There's a guy in my hometown here that has a AR-7 and I'm going to try his magazine. If that is the fix, I'll contact you. Thanks again!

The firing pin used to stick in the foreward position ,on the one I had,and block the next round from seating against the bolt face resulting in a failure to feed.I removed the firing pin cleaned it and the channel on the bolt.

mine is flawless with any high speed ammo if clean and lubed, not so flawless with standard ammo and dirty internals
