Ok, what do the experts recommand?

I am not looking for something too fancy, just something that will work on both milspec and commercial size buffer tube and for barrel installation

I want to change my commercial tube for a milspec one. Might as well get something to build my own AR upper in the future

Anything available N of the border or who will ship it here?

Cheers

I find the Brownells ones work the best "I done 100s of C7 and C8 barrels and buffer tubes with them

Which is great if you're using the old style castle nuts. He probably has the newer M4 castle nuts and would be better off with something like this.

No idea who makes it but I'm sure a quick search of Brownells will find you one. As for barrel install the tool Dsiwy shows at the top will do just fine. I have a DPMS that is similar, even has the castle nut wrench built in but again is best for the older style CAR castle nut.

I went with the brownells that can be adjusted. Good things they have review, some of them seems to be junks while others get high praised

Thanks guys

do you have a upper reciever vise block? or are you clamping the barrel in the vise using barrel soft jaws?

Old wrench works on the new nuts "if your careful"

I went down south once and had to install abunch of single point sling plates on some M4s "I was like "DOH" at first but I made things work with the old wrench :)"

I used to use an old style barrel wrench, but last summer I got a Precision Reflex wrench from Brownells part #714-000-007 and I love it. It doesn’t slip and it is rock solid! I use a seperate wrench for buffer tubes.

I also use the blocks that Dsiwy has.

CZ85Combat don't forget that tool imports are not restricted by ITAR ... so knock yourself out!
