1st ime putting anything together like this, and man it was not that bad.
After months of scouring the internet and racing the wife to the mail box it is done let me know what you think. I still need a higher mount for the aimpoint replica. I get to go to the range on friday I can't wait.:)

it is nice

I bought all the parts except fpr the lower receiver and the back up site, bolt here on cgn.
Thx to all those who helped. The only question I have is lubrication?
Where do I lube and what should I use?
oh I still need a mag or 6

h.Wilson barrel,
cerro forge key hole upper,
CAA rear stock kit,
dpms lower parts kit,
eagle arms lower from wolverine,
BUIS, and bolt assembly from Walter at Arms East,
Aimpoint replica.

I must also say that if anyone needs parts order from ArmsEast. The service and knowledge is top notch. Walter is fantastic to deal with.

Order a cantilever Aimpoint mount from 1337 Tactical. It'll bring that Aimpoint Replica up where you need it to be......and, it's cheap tooo, like the Aimpoint Clones them selves......they look cool though...

Nicely done. Welcome to the black rifle club!
You need only one substance to keep her running and that's Break-Free CLP. It cleans, lubricates and protects against corrosion. Apply small amounts to the bolt, bolt carrier group as well as the trigger mechanism components. Don't be excessive, just make sure the carrier is moist and cycles with little resistance.
As for the mags, I'd recommend USGI grey/teflon-coated magazines with green followers. Stick with these following brands and you should be okay: Okay (no pun intended), Colt's, NHMTG, Parsons, D&H etc..
Your Aimpoint replica seems to be sitting a little low, make sure you get an appropriate height mount that will clear most of the front sight post, several mounts such as the QRP will even co-witness the red dot with your front sight providing you get the spacer. Also consider buying an authentic Aimpoint once you can afford it, it will last a lifetime, but for range use I'm sure the replica's fine.
And foremost, shoot the crap out of it, sending brass at a terrified neighbour at the range!

Clean, simple, I like it. Like has already been mentioned, you need an elevated mount for the red dot. You want the dot to sit at the same height, or slightly higher, than your front sight post. Otherwise you'll be aiming "through" the front sight base.

Now all you have to do is cut that sucker down to 14.5" or 11.5" and you'll be ready to rock!!

Nice work, Iam still debating building one or just buying it, as for the cost do you think there is much in savings from building or buying? As far as the research Ive done it doesnt seem to be that much cheaper.

It isn't, and "parts" guns depreciate in value more than a factory stock rifle will even if the value of the components is more.
