I have parts arriving for an AR I'm building (fun) but had some questions regarding lube and assembly.

At is stands now, I have everything I need to do the lower receiver. I also have the stripped upper receiver. I had it in my mind to fully assemble and then lube once done which made me realize, I don't have a clue how to lube one.

I've seen the sticky at the top regarding AR lubrication but had figured since I have a fully stripped upper and lower receiver, now would be a great time to do that heat treatment with frog lube. Is there any real point to even doing that with the lower receiver?

Also, I've watched a video or two of how to install the lower receiver kit, however it doesn't seem like anyone is lubing the parts as they put them in, should I be doing that? Maybe they pulled it all apart after and did that?

If you had a fully stripped AR, never before used, what advice would you give a noob like myself while putting it all together?

I just lube my Ar's once built. And i just spray the sh!t out of them with CLP.

I dont use them fancy expensive products.

Cheers

Put it together and the grease it.

People tend to waaaayyyyyy over-think their "lubrication strategy" for their guns.

I use Frog Lube, and it works fine. I'm not convinced that it's the be-all-end-all that so e people claim it is, but that's my opinion. I've never done the whole heat treatment BS that they recommend, so YMMV.

I'm just trying to do it right the first time. I like doing a good job and taking care of my firearms but ya, I probably over think things a bit.

So assemble as is then. I can do that. I'd like to get started on it right away anyways so not having to wait for the FL treatment is fine with me!

To the people that use Mobil1 is it the little grease tube? I am going to pick some up as applying froglube is such a pain in the ass. Can you get it at Lordco or Crappy tire?

unless you are putting your AR through some rough conditions, just lube moving surfaces once its done.

I dont think anyone lubes parts and assembles them. I dont see why you would lube your lower parts kit the way you describe.

you can take the BCG out and lube it and the upper up at any time you wish too
