I am interested in buying an AR of some type. I believe the least expensive ammo is the Mil Surplus 7.62x39 available by the case. I see that most ARs are in .223. I'd be interested in buying used as I only shoot every second week. Any recommendations as to the make/model of AR I should look for if I wanted to stick with 7.62x39? Really interested in a good AR but with cheapest ammo.

To buy used, go on the EE.

As for shooting 7.62x39 in an AR, don't know man... stick to the .223 to get all you can get with an AR. If you really want to shoot the 7.62x39, get a rifle that shoots it. (CZ 858? or something like that)

don't waste your time with the 7.62x39. the mags suck, the bolt is weakened too much, the mags suck, corrosive ammo will mean even more extensive cleaning, the mags suck, you have to play with springs and weights to get the gun to cycle, and oh yah, the mags suck.
