AR Change upper receiver : Need to re-check headspace?

Assuming you buy a complete upper and decide to replace the stripped upper with another make (ex. A2 to Flattop), do you need to check headspace? Since it's the same bolt and same barrel I'd assume so, but still wanted advise.
 
No, because the bolt only mates with the barrel. Receiver won't change anything in regards to that.

Edit** I mis read the first post, presuming that the upper was previously fired.
If it hasn't been, it couldn't hurt to have it checked. That being said I've never had any rifle I've built fail a headspace check, nor have I heard of one. Especially considering if it fails there is sweet F all you can do about it.
