Looking for suggestions for a quality collapsible butt stock that isn’t loose and rattle around.

I have a couple of AR 15s that have collapsible butt stocks but they are loose and rattle around when shooting. I could put on a Bill Clinton butt stock that is a collapsible look-alike but doesn’t function as one.
I like to shoot with a solid feeling stock. It comes from years of shooting hunting and tactical rifles, and can’t seem to get around any element that will decrease accuracy. There are lots of stocks out there but which ones are really solid without going back to the old GI solid stock.

Ergo makes the M93 stock.

Magpul ACS is one of my favourite... cheekweld like a SOPMOD, locks solid, and has a good fit/ergo's for off hand.

ACS, CTR, UBR and the Ergo M93 are all perfect. My faves are the CTR & UBR. Magpul put out a couple new stocks that are kind of mixbreed. They probably would work the same.

Ditto. I had an ACS on my KAC 16" SR-15 and it was a great setup, which is why I'm going with the same on my LMT308 again. I've tried the ACS-L and I just don't like the cheek weld as much as with the ACS.

Actually, I didn't want to say this before, but I feel I have to. The STR and the ACS-L just seem like a quick fix for Magpul to pull something new out of their hat. I love Magpul stuff and was a little disappointed about these new editions. The original ACS does have a nice cheek weld too. Why mess with perfection.

Yeah, you can include the new bizarre 870 shotgun stock and the cheap-o rifle stock in the mix... The CTR basically adds storage, and all you essentially get with the ACS-L is a longer LOP.

That's pretty sweet.

It's a CTR in a sheep's skin... Addendum: I take that back. It looks like a piece of crap...

It does look as if they ripped off Magpul. I'm happy with both my Magpul and my Superstoc. The superstoc is longer actually by a little bit. I do find it a more solid lock onto the buffer tube. Either way if M4s start coming with them soon, it is a great step up from the current design.

Everyone rips off Magpul... (par for the course any time you're the industry leader). The MOE is a low-cost CTR, and both the CTR and MOE are about 200-250g lighter - so there's a bit of weight savings, too. Don't forget the extended stock pads and cheek risers (fixed and sliding). Did I mention they come in black? ;)

For a precision setup, my money is still on the ACS. It has a better cheek weld than the CTR or UBR, and for me at least - the perfect LOP.

For precision I'm all about the PRS...but otherwise, I'm quite particular to the UBR (but settled on the CTR due to cost :().

The shotgun stocks are pretty Fugly. As far as that other one, you don't like that? I guess it is kinda like the CTR/ACS mix. It does look better than an M4 stock, for sure. Right?
