ANyone know who would be the best person to send my AR to have the standard bird cage flash hider removed, and have a Miculek comp installed?
Looking for decent turn around time of a couple of weeks.
I was going to attempt it, but I am not sure I want to fuss around with that. I can do minor things (trigger springs, tune mags, grips, etc) but this seems to require some experience. I have no tools for this job, and would sooner have it done by some one with experience.

I've heard it mentioned on this forum before that a comp may be nice; but if you have shooters next to you at the range after you put it in, you can suddenly become unpopular.

It will help with recoil, but makes it louder than hell esp from the side.

Clamp the barrel in a vise between two wood blocks and put a wrench on it.

Should take 5 minutes if you take your time.

Got some links to pics, I don't want to damage anything. Exactly where do I clamp?

Clamp (with wood) as close to the muzzle as possible to avoid torquing the barrel.

Relax, you'll be fine.

Not yet Austin, got the comp, just debating when to try to install it, .. have you installed yours yet?
Looks simple enough, but then there is the install of the new comp. The comp has ports at 6 and 9 o'clock, but judging by the way the AR rises,...maybe a little adjustment may be necessary(?),...
