Looking very seriously at an AR15 in 6.8cal.

If I buy it, by no means will I be shooting the hell out if it, but it will get used occasionally.

What our your thoughts on the calibre? A bit more money to shoot, but other than that....:confused:

Need I worry?

I built a target AR in 6.8mm.(right now I have it for sale on the EE) I think its just better then 5.56 in every way. my local gun store stocks 6.8 so I think its more easy to find then stuff like .50 beowolf or 6.5 ect.. its a good option if you don't want go up to a .308 but you want something bigger then 5.56. also is cheap and easy to reload for since it uses the .270 bullet. I just wish you could hunt with your AR because its a really good hunting round for up to deer even.

I have a 6.8 XCR-L and I love shooting it. It's got just a bit more recoil than 5.56 but nothing serious, and it's fun telling people about your strange cal. at the range. It's quite pricey here in Victoria to buy, but I mostly intend to use it for deer so not a huge concern.

To each their own. i personally don't see what all the fuss it about. If you've shot it, and like it, buy it. Simple as that.

I would be more interested in the .300blk than anything else. but since we can't own suppressors in Canada, I don't see the point in owning that caliber.

I would ask yourself this: Is the extra cost of ammo worth the usage that you'll get from it? If the answer is yes, than def buy it.
