Hey All

I'm in the process of completing my restricted PAL. I'd like to get an AR type rifle. With so many different combinations it can get confusing. All I know at the moment is that I want 20" bbl. The rest its up in the air.
Sorry for beeing so broad but I don't know much about those rifles.

check with Wolverine Supplies. They have many variants of Armalite AR-15s.
They have Police carbines, 20" rifles, heavy barrel target rifles.
I ordered mine (16" LE Carbine) from them and I am happy :D

Do yourself a favour and buy / beg / borrow copies of "The Black Rifle" and "Black Rifle II". Then read them, cover to cover. Any questions you have after that will be very specific in nature.

Check out www.ar15.com and http://www.biggerhammer.net/manuals/ and
http://www.ammo-oracle.com/ for the answers to the many questions you will have.
Colt, Bushmaster, DPMS, Armalite, Rock River Arms, Stag Arms all seem to be well made according to people in the know.
Dealers like Questar, Armseast, Wolverines (see above ads),www.ellwoodepps.com,www.p-d-ent.com, www.williamsarms.net
all sell new AR's.
I am a recent AR addict and for someone who is generally a worldwide menace with a tool in my hands I find these rifles easy to work on. At least for the basics.

Thanks for the replys. I will be using the rifle for plinking as well as paper punching. Like state above I'm interested in the full lenght rifle not the carbine.
