I receive two 30/5 rounder pinned by a rivet but the rivet is not flush fit to the mag so it does'nt enter in the rifle. What do you do to fit the rivet flush to the mag ?

Return them to where you bought them,... For shame on the shipper.

To make it fit, you just file the rivet until it is flush or there abouts. The one with the 6th round, is going to be full of holes if you fix it, so like I said return it on the sellers dime.

I mean, the rivet is not countersunk it's round head. Can i make it countersunk by myself or i need to put a new rivet in there ?

Did you buy them from a CGN dealer or from a CGN member? If so you should let them know that this isnt right and ask for a refund or have them taking care of the problem. Dont play with them cause its againts the law.

Buy it in EE, probably a member.

You file it down....

Exactly... I bought 2 "Unfit/Unfinished" 5/30 Magpul mags from Questar...

Took a file and filed the rivet down till it fit in the magwell without rubbing.... go to far in filing though and you can break off the head of the rivet.. file..test fit... file..test fit again... repeat until it fits nicely

Who said anything about the mags being illegal? They were just pinned poorly and won't insert in the mag well.

The solution to this situation is painfully obvious.
Why this thread was even started is beyond comprehension.

I usually put the rivet to the side of the mag in the rib that goes inside the mag. If the rivet doesn't do its job, you can put another rivet to the other side... not big deal.

also confused as to how people think this is illegal, they dont fit in the rifle, it makes them evenmore legal lol, but if you were to remove the rivet without adding that other rivet first, then its illegal....

just grab a file and do the file then fit test

HELLO????? He posted about something first that was "an issue" and was asked by several of us to remove that part of his post for his safety. NOTHING TO DO WITH THE 5 ROUND MAG!!! The part with the "issue" has been removed from his post (and from mine helping him). I am sure he would appreciate people do that same. Perhaps this thread should be deleted now that several.... nice people... have told him very politely and helpfully how to handle his problems.
