Hello,

C products makes a 30 rounds AR magazine which is pinned to 5.

The question: Is the magazine Aluminum?

C-Products factory 5/30 mags are lanced, not pinned. Like Ronin said, they make aluminum, stainless and in almost any caliber imaginable.

What is the difference between lanced and pinned?

Pinned usually means a rivet, lanced is small portions of the side wall bent inward to block the follower.

What could possibly be the benefit of getting the pinned magazines?

It ought not make a difference.

in case someone wants to clean, you can remove the pin and take the mag apart

Not just cleaning, but replacing the crappy green followers with magpul followers, or worn out springs.

If it was easy it wouldn't be legal. Mags must be permanently limited to 5 rds. So yeah, you gotta drill it out and put in a new pop rivit.

Lanced mags can't be taken apart at all without destroying the mag.

I have a couple of mags were it was the follower itself that was modified, has a piece of plastic epoxied to the follower, kinda like some of the Norinco M14 mags, then a pop rivet in the existing hole of the floorplate just to be extra anal. Keeps the mag original looking at least.
