Word on the street has it that the CFC is disagreeing with the RCMPs ruling that 10 rd mags are OK.

Figures... So we'll get 'em, only to have the decision reversed, and then we are all common criminals again for having hi-cap mags........

I love this country.... Makes me wonder why I ever served in its military..........

I ordered 5, I'll be pretty ####ing pissed if I can't use these when I could of and should of spent this money buying a damn upper. I got them because I was sure they were going to go fast...

The CFC doesn’t count, they are an administration centre. The RCMP makes the calls on classifications. Now that doesn't stop the provincial CFO's being told to making something up to "restrict" its use in some back handed way, but a magazine is a part and the CFO's don't control parts...

And there you have it. I suppose that even though these 10 rd mags are legal, no one should expect to have a hassle free time of using them. I would expect the CFC will be putting out a lot of misdirection on this one.
:bangHead:

They should just do away with the mag cap laws and move on

Oh and i use C-Product STS 5/30rd CP-01-5/30 $35.00 from WOLVERINE SUPPLIES

Great mags

Are these new 10rnd. 'pistol' mags a new style of mag or are they just the standard AR mag pinned to 10 instead of 5. If they are different, anyone got a pic of one?

Clear up a couple of points that were made in this THREAD...

FIRST: The magazines are NOT made by Rock River Arms and they are not sold by Rock River Arms.

SECOND: These magazines are manufactured under contract specifically for Questar by the same supplier that is now making magazines for Rock River Arms and that supplier is C-Products. The magazines are specifically made for Questar (for Canada) and imported and distributed exclusively by Questar.

THIRD: The magazines come standard with Magpul Anti-Tilt followers and either standard type floorplates or Tactipul "Ranger Type" floorplates at slightly higher price.

FOUR: To my knowledge, these specific magazines are currently the only .223/5.56 caliber production design that has been approved by RCMP Classification Section as a "Pistol Magazine and therefore legally allowed a capcity of not more than 10 rounds". (CFC cannot "over-rule" the RCMP's decision and no crown attorney would ever get a conviction with the RCMP being on record as approving the magazine for 10 round capacity... plus DFAIT approved their importation and "commercial re-sale" based on the written classifcation from RCMP.)

FIVE: You cannot just take a magazine and stamp "Pistol Magazine" on the side and make it 10 rounds... a manufacturer needs to prove that the magazine was designed and manufactured by the manufacturer of the magazine as a Pistol Magazine, and that it's not just a converted rifle magazine.

Last but not least... Best news of all... Mags are in Canada... First shipments will be going out this week :)

So are the 10rd mags on the C-products site legal for Canada?

No... the magazines that are shown on the C-Products website are classified as "Rifle Magazines" and in Canada that means legally limited to 5 round maximum capacity.

C-Products will lance them for you to limit them to 5 rounds and that would make them legal for importation into Canada.

Well Kudo's to you buddy, "he who hesitates is lost". Good move on your part.

Anyone have a list of dealers for these mags ? CRAFM and.... ?

If necessary, I can wait for Questar on May 1st but if there is a local dealer, I will happily deal with them.

And kudos to Questar - great job guys !!!

Buddy read between the lines, "Questar" is the only dealer! you may be able to buy them from someone with another name but Questar is the "dealer".

Mark are you able to tell us how many will be arriving from the first shipment? I've pre-ordered through one of the dealers you listed but with all the interest I'm wondering if there's enough to go around.

CRAFM, Target Sports, McColl Sporting Goods, Freedom Arms, Reliable, Hunters... I've probably missed a few and I'm sorry.

Bottom line is that we're not really looking to retail these ourselves... contact your local dealer and have them contact us for wholesale info... we'll be happy to supply them.

I can tell you that the shipment that just came in is already totally spoken for... it will start going out to dealers next week. Our next shipment is about 2 to 3 weeks away.
