AR receiver set transfers

I think i understand the procedure buying a lower from a store them building an ar and having to register it as a complete rifle but my question is when you own a complete AR and strip it say for a macabee build when yo sell the upper and lower does it have to be re registered as an incomplete or does it just all stay the same?

Call in to tell them it is only a receiver.

Is that what needs to be done or are you just saying to do that ? maybe i will just call and ask on monday?

Legit won't matter much when it's in your possession, but if you're selling it, when you call to start the transfer let them know that it's a receiver only. They'll charge the information before they process the transfer.
