AR SBR . Who has one and what is it?

Hi there,

I'd like to see how many people have AR SBR (Short Barrel Rifle) and did you buy it like that , did you build it. What makes a SBR better then the other.
Any problems with cycling? what would be your dream AR SBR or what would you change on your rifle? Or did you build it and go ...yuck..and sold it ?

I'm waiting for mine is a Franken AR SBR but it looked good to me. Can't wait to try it.

So how bout you , what do you have?

Oh curious of sights and optics and you're running too

Picx would be nice too.

This is a weird question man. SBR is more of an american term referring to rifles with less than 16 inch barrels. While i realise it is sort of a transferable term you might be better off stating exactly what barrel length you're referring too. As for what makes a short barrel better than a long barrel? really? not to sound like a tool but its pretty obvious isn't it. The gun will be small and lighter, making it handier and easier to manoeuvre.
 
7.0" Dlask with a PWS CQB on a SOCOM lower. I have since changed the hardware to black, swapped the MBUS with a set of Troy folding M4 BUIS and a LaRue RISR instead of the Magpul cheek riser. Rail accessories now consist of Tango Down rail panels and a Gear Sector QD sling mount/hand stop. I really like the Trijicon 42mm Reflex so that's been retained. But the real fun is with the internals: DPMS TiNi bolt/carrier, KNS anti-rotation pins, BAD lever, BAD A.S.S. ambi safety, PRI Gasbuster handle, KAC 2-stage match trigger, PWS aluminium buffer tube and Enidine hydraulic buffer. I love this gun! There's almost no recoil and the PWS makes it a dream to shoot beside.

10.5 LMT on a Sabre XR15 lower.
11.5 Spikes ST-22 on the above lower.

Full auto BCG and ST-T2 buffer on the 5.56 upper, no malfs in all of 3 boxes of ammo that has been put through it. :(

Finally joining a rifle range.

10.5" Rock River Arms with PWS CQB, Magpul bits and pieces (AFG not shown), Yankee Hill quad rail, BCM charging handle. Currently have a Vortex SPARC on it but switching out for a Millet DMS-1 with Burris P.E.P.R. mount. And yes, I love it to pieces :D Though for some shorty fun I was considering the Rock River Arms PDS that Questar is selling.

Here's mine. I like my shorties as light and simple as possible...I was originally going to go irons only but thought I'd give the Aimpoint a try. The DD mount is very light (since it offers a 1/3 co-witness there's no need for a QR mount) and with the sight mounted "mid-way" along the rifle it doesn't affect the balance.

Upper: N8 Upper from Arms East with Magpul Foliage Green MOE handguards, Aimpoint H1 in Daniel Defence Mount (and sometimes a Magpul AFG)

Lower: Armalite lower with Stag parts kit and LMT receiver extension, Magpul MOE grip, trigger guard and CTR stock

Here is is with the AFG...I must admit I didn't much like the feel of it at first. It's almost feels "bulkier"...like the FS2000 I used to own. When shooting, though it feels quite natural and gives good control

Oops...that was a cut-n-paste error I made copying from an earlier post I made.:redface: I actually like the AFG OK when shooting--it's different, but it gives you good control.

You guys have some AWESOME rigs. I see a few of you have the Aimpoint T1 I was thinking of getting of getting that or maybe be cheap about it and getting a Sparc flame.

What are you guys running as a sling ? (1 point ,2 point or 3) I hear the Gear Sector GS-3P a 3 point sling that you can transition faster than the troy(forget what it's called)

How many of you run different uppers (like 9mm,.22lr or like a 24 inch upper for long range?)

Also how many of you bought parts that just didn't turn out that good (not to say #### ...D'oh!) and would not recommend no your worst ennemy (well, ...maybe you would) lol

Aimpoint: Get the H1; better bang for your buck.
Slings: Magpul MS2, BlueForce Gear, Urban-ERT (all 2 or 3-point).
Uppers: Originally considered a dedicated .22LR but went with an M&P15-22 instead. As for uppers for longer range, started down that path but then realized I'd want to run a different stock, grip, etc. so it was just easier having a designated lower.

It really comes down to personal preference. Sometimes you try a part and it works great in one setup and less so in another. And for me variety is the spice of life (that and I'm an accessory whore!), so I like changing out my configurations every so often. ;) It's not the having; it's the wanting!
