AR Scope Mount for Co-Witness?

Can anyone recommend a good mount to co-witness with the irons? My AR has the irons on it right now, and the front iron will stay on it. The scopes I am looking at are a Leupold Mark4 1.5-5 and a Vortex Viper PST 1-4. The AR is an LMT 16" defender.

I believe at 1.5 power you won't see the front sight tower. Many magnified optic are so long that you cant extend a rear BUIS with the scope in place.

From what I'm told you can't cowitness through magnified optics. Run folding BUIS and be done with it.

+1 on the no co-witness with an optic like the 1-4x even at 1x.

I had this set up and know what you're looking for won't work.

at 1x you'll see this:

if you want to co-witness with irons then you need to use an (unmagnified) red dot with unlimited eye relief.

I think most mounted properly unless its canted forward on some sort of MRP, you wont have enough rear room to flip it up anyways. Even with most optics I have tried the occular only just clears at average height with small buis sandwhiched under it, like a troy micro or similar.

Depends on your eye relief how far forward you can go. Cowitness with a scope seems like such a hassle. With a QD mount you could take off the scope and save the problems.
