AR talk about calibers

Hi guys,

Just wanted to know if these calibers are available in AR platform and if you have one.


.30-06
.300 WM
.308


I figure the range and accuracy would be amazing

The AR-10 is a .308

I'm not sure about those other 2 calibers you posted though.

I don't think anyone has built a lower thats long enough for the 30-06 or 300WM the AR-10 is long enough and designed for the 308 lenght case.

I think that the new remmington R25 (AR10) comes in 308, 243, 7-08

I know the M1 Garand is a .30-06 but I want something a littel newer looking.

Is there a company making m1 garand type rifles still?

I've also seen an upper that fits on any 5.56 lower that is 7.62 x 39 as well a a cool 5.7 x 28 (ps90) upper.

30-06 hasn't been a military chambering for 50+ years. If you want a military 30-06 you get a 60+ year old design.

Remington has there own short .30 cal in an ar-15 plateform i believe

COBB Manufacturing made an AR style rifle in 30-06 and 338 Lapua. They were taken over by Bushmaster but I don't see these calibres in the Bushmaster catalogue. There is an article in Guns and Ammo Book of the AR-15 from summer of 2007. The Remington R15 is available in 30 Rem AR.

I like my AR-15A3 in one calibre & one calibre only...that is 5.56 NATO If I had an AR-15 set up as a DMR, it would be most defenetly in 7.62 NATO with premium optics/rings/mount, bi-pod, match grade ammo, etc
