Building my first AR and would like to a complete kit of tools (hammer, punches, wrench all that good stuff)... looking for a kit that has evenything i need and comes in a nice case... I've seen 3 or 4 but looking for you AR crazies to chime in and push me in the right direction

All yer need to build an AR:

- vise
- vise block for upper/lower (Magpul BEV blocks are awesome and does both)
- AR wrench (universal or Magpul wrench to remove/install barrel and castle nut)
- Torque wrench (CrappyTire regular sale item)
- Pin punch
- polymer/brass head hammer

I personally wouldn't buy any pre made kits. You can source most of the basic tools from Canadian tire or princess auto at a much cheaper price and they work every bit as good. I've built 7 rifles and I've never had issues.

Only thing I always recommend, avoid the magpul Bev blocks. I know a lot of guys swear by them, but I had a gunsmith spin off a barrel but for me using one and slightly warped the upper receiver around the ejection port. I strongly advise spending the money on a geissele reaction rod >> torque is entirely and only applied to the barrel extension and eliminates any possibilities of problems.

yea i was looking at the reaction rod and watched a few videos on it... since i havent done a ar build i was thinking about getting one cuz i havent used a block before i would likely break or bend something... just gotta get over the fact that its like $300 and it my not be a thing i use alot lol

Jeebuz, just get some barrel blocks. They're cheap and don't place any strain on any aluminum bits.

They've done the job for decades without issue. You always seem to hear about problems with the alternatives.
