AR Type Semi Automatic Rifles that are Legal in Ontario Canada

Any AR is legal if you have an RPAL and are a valid member of a firearm range organization (gun club). As far as federal law is concerned.

If I misinterpreted you and what you're looking for is an AR variant that is non-restricted, there are a various number available. The AR180B is likely the closest non-restricted rifle to an AR.

Holy Jesus, the amount of these threads popping up lately is no coincidence.

Anyone else smell the trolls knocking on the door?

OK I am not the one trying to purchase the firearm it is my father and this is his account he is not good at this online stuff so he wants me to do it. Im 15 and i have my regular hunting license and my firearm apprenticeship from him.

From what I know of he has his restricted that lets him own and fire handguns. He says that hes pretty sure there is a way for him to get a AR like rifle.

He just wants to know if he can get a AR-15 type gun that is semi automatic and can use in Ontario Legally.

An AR15 is legal by itself, is restricted and semi-automatic (so if he has his restricted permit he can buy one) and he can use it at his gun club.

Problem solved. :)

Hrm?

he just said that his dad can take his handguns to his property (farm or land), added onto his att.

What was implied is that his dad fires the handguns at said property which is not allowed, but he didn't out right come and say it (unless its classifed as a range which he said nothing about)

Well if he can shoot handguns on his property, certainly he could shoot AR15 type rifles on his property.

EDIT: Christ...just tell your dad to go to a gun store and talk to them if he is not good with the computer rather than getting his 15 year old son to sort it out for him. I just realized how ridiculous this thread is.

That's a stretch........

His post specifically said he doesn't go anymore bcs he now has a "magic license" that allows him to USE (see def. handle/load/fire) on the said property. Now unless said "LICENSE" was issued by the CFO as a result of an application for a restricted range (obviously approved after the criteria set out in the law was met) , I call it illegal backyard shooting. Nuff said !

I was wondering if there is any Legal AR variants or types of semi automatic rifles that would be legal in Ontario for someone with a restricted license.

AR-15 and all it's variants (semi-auto) are restricted and legal, got a RPAL then you can buy one.
Province has nothing to do with it, Canada is all the same law.

I am not going to debate were the OP or father is shooting restricted guns, that's a provincial thing, restricted are generally limited to restricted ranges but some folks get private property certified as a private restricted range..... so who knows in this case.

Looking for a place to buy, just look at the banners at the top of this page, many offer all sorts of versions.

IBTL......

Please enlighten us which license this is?

is it a "no one is around so I can get away with it?" license? because if it is, No. not legal. please refrain from posting such stupid sh*t online, subsequently giving all firearm owners a bad name.

Surely if his father rangled through the rigmarole to get a range approved on private property, he would know something as simple as gun types and legality surrounding them.

Troll op is troll.

Theoretically if the CFO could authorize his dad to possess a restricted firearm on his property, and if there are no discharge by-laws where he lives, he could shoot them on his property (AFAIK at least... there might be a statute somewhere prohibiting the discharge of restricted or prohibited firearms at a place that is not an approved range... but I'm pretty sure it's just a possession and transportation issue). Mind you, I highly doubt that this is the case...

Ok Ok Ok (so says Joe Pesci)

Here is the Reeeeal deal, cuz this is really what this posts are about..... are you listening ???? come closer and I will wisper the answer in your ear........

You go to 35th street... now write this down.... alright so on 35th street corner of 68th you will see a white sedan 90's style, DO NOT go near it, now look across the street there is a guy with a black baseball cap, he will be staring at a car, go to that car and drop a 8.4cu-in green and purple bag with $150 worth of new 20$ bills onto the back seat, then hit 5 times on the trunk, it will open and the guy will hand you an A-R15 with 20 clips of bullet cased brass.

Now we are good! no more of these threads ok... enjoy your gang-banging drive by's, they are sure fun on hot summer nights.

No I was wrong about that permit thing or whatever I apologise

He is aloud to have the handguns at the house but can only use them at the range thats what I ment to say sorry for the confusion.

My dad is just looking for a AR type gun that he can use and shoot on our property and hunt with aswell.
