AR vertical foregrip

Hm.. forgot about this thread. I went with the GG&G. Some storage inside the grip, I threw some batteries in there for the holosight. It screws in at the bottom and there is a piece at the top that holds it in place as you thread the bottom in.

After my last deployment I'll never use a "plastic" grip again, aluminium only from now on,or at least a reinforced plastic one.I used an aluminium grip from DPMS on my C7A2 with KAC M5 RIS,not a single problem at all. I observed way too many KAC,TD and cheap foregrips break.

How did the TD's fail? The only way I can see them being broken off is by taking a piece of the rail system with them..

I guess the stress a real operator put on their gear is something civilians can't really imagine. I just can't see TD Vertical Grip breaking off, but then I'm a range monkey, so my rifle is in no danger of experiencing even 1/10th of what the rifle was originally designed for.

I have a B&T vert grip..solid billet with a QD 1913 attachment. Very nice piece..adds abit of weight though..

The TD grips were snapping off, usually from the impact of getting caught on stuff during house clearing or breaching/climbing obstacles.

Slavex-There is a company in Canada that makes one like that,it's the new "issue" grip. Cantex sounds like the name but I'll look it up when I get back to work.

I had a Gunsmoke grip that was all aluminium and it was bomb proof

I am running a TD but I would like a shorter stubby one for the SPR

I still like the KAC one best -- its not the stongest but it fits my hand the best -- and you can get them easilty enough via .gov/.mil if your using it operations
I've seen many more broken or cracked tightening it on the rail. Its best to hand tighten then turn a 1/4 turn with a quarter.

TD's are pretty beefy - and in US .mil testing they typically tore off the rails or bent them before going -- I still bet on an airsoft ripoff for failures

I've used CQD and the B&T -- I HATE metal grips as they transmit either cold or heat into the hand. Plus they are heavier...
