I have recently assembled an AR using mostly Aero Precision parts, with a 14.5" Ballistic Advantage barrel with a mid-length gas system.
I realize that a mid-length gas system paired with a 14.5" barrel will result in a relatively low gas impulse, but fully expected it to be able to reliably cycle 55 grain factory 223. It seems to run well with 62 grain 223 and 5.56 (It is chambered in 223 Wylde)
I thought maybe I bought a buffer that was too heavy without realizing it, but it is not marked, which would indicate it is a carbine buffer.
Any suggestions? is it a no no to open the gas hole in the barrel slightly?
