Two problems come to mind - your barrel is utterly too short to give your 55gr bullets the muzzle velocity they need to stabilize; and, your barrel has the wrong twist for the muzzle velocity of the bullets as fired.

Try shooting a barrel that is about twice as long, and you won't have either problem previously stated.

(PS you are rediscovering the "Blackhawk Down" Mogadishu M4 carbine phenomenon. Insufficient muzzle velocity and accuracy to knock down the attackers. )

I believe he's saying his accuracy just went to s**t recently. Not that it was always that way.

yep...when I first got it 2" at 100meters of the bench and rest.....

I would hate to see what it would do now that far out...lol

ammo AE 55gr or Winchester 55gr fmj

For me... I'd first check for play in the barrel where it connects to the upper, followed by play in the front sight.

Then I'd check for play in the front sight post and rear sight aperture; obviously checking the detachable handle if you have one for play.

10" does sound like a lot at 25m.

Give it a real good cleaning after the check then try again :)

Sound like your barrel has bit the dust. Was it chrome-lined or chromoly?

That must be it Jamie. You've subcome to the evil-evil gun syndrome. You must stick to the 20" barrel evil gun or you will be doomed.LOL

"bit the dust" = figure of speech meaning "died."

Just curious as to the metallurgy of the barrel. 7K to 9k rounds seems pretty low. What make of barrel?

Stupid question, but how's your flash hider?

Simple throat erosion shouldn't cause that much of a problem. Is your flash hider tight, been removed or replaced lately, of have you accidently damaged the crown?

If all else fails, take it off and try a few rounds.

A match barrel is usually shot out at around 5,000 rnds. Check throat erosion first. I'll bet shooting fast and a lot has cooked the leading edges of the rifling and as said before your barrel is finished. New barrel time bud.

but their fighting schedule is based on 30rnd mags and wether it was in full auto or just burst shooting. somehow i think our 5 rounds intense schedule isn't quite that intense.

the Eotech is good.....its now mounted on Reapers upper and I won match with it today...

the whole gun is Armailte no franken AR's at my place ....yet...

I will try to Clean the bore real good take off the FH and have a look at the crown....then.....if that don.t work...barrel time
