would it be legal to turn the Barrel down to say 7" move everything up and make a s**t and giggles AR Pistol??


I know I could buy a barrel but...I could turn this down for nothing

No problems with shortening the barrel, however, it will still be registered as a rifle, and the 5 round mag rule will still apply.
