I have ordered a new LMT MWS 308 from Questar and I am wondering if I can put my Magpul UBR on it. I have owned several AR15's in the past but no AR10's. Can I just screw on my AR15 UBR receiver extension, and run it like that with LMT MWS carbine buffer and spring, or do I need to get new parts. If so what should I buy and where should I get it, with somewhere in Canada being my first choice. Thanks.

I ordered one too. The Magpul catalogue states that the UBR is designed to handle the heavy recoil from todays large bore ARs, and it doesn't show an AR10 model. I've got an as yet to be used PRS stock that I bought for one of my AR15s, but unfortunately there is an AR10 PRS listed on their site. I'm not sure why a UBR could be used on both an AR15, and an AR10, but the PRS couldn't. There must be a difference in buffer tube dimensions. It seems though that the UBR comes with it's own receiver extension.
The AR-15/AR10 PRS comes from the fact of the longer throw on the charging handle/bolt on the 7.62mm guns they need to alter the length of the adjustable height cheekpiece to ensure it does not block the charging handle.
On the UBR
We used to make a special short buffer so you could use a M4 buffer tube - or a UBR tube.
However we went to a longer tube, and Armalite uses a longer tube (slightly shorter than ours).
So unless you have a special buffer you can't do that.
LMT was using M4 Carbine buffer tubes and short buffers so that should be easy on the LMT
