What would be a good commercial ammo for an AR15 with a 1:7 twist barrel.

I have ss109 ammo, but would like to buy a larger quantity of ammo, hopefully on a fairly regular basis. From what I understand, the 1:7 barrel likes heavy and/or full-metal jacket ammo. Who would sell this type of rounds?

Thanks

wouldn't we all. here in bc it's pretty much take what you can get IF and WHEN you can. that being said 55gr whitebox is pretty good.

Yeah, almost everything shoots well at around 100 meters(even my Russian SKS), but 200 meters and beyond is where the lighter bullets are challenged.

Sorry I don't own an SKS.
Personally I've had some very amazing results on the 200m line with light (45-55 grain) ammo.
I've shot well even out to 500m with 45gr & 55gr stuff. Sure its challenged, but with little or no wind it is do-able.
I don't disagree with going to the heavier bullets, and do myself - I just wouldn't poo-poo the lighter stuff due to armchair comments that it won't cut it.
It can and will (perhaps not always). If you don't believe me try it yourself, you may be happily suprised!;)
