With all the excitement around short ARs I wonder if anyone still owns old school 20'' A2 or A3 ARs. I like the classic look + the fact that my non modified armalite shoots well with iron sights.

I have a couple as well. Now that you mention it, I think I will put one on one of my lowers this week and take it out for a date at the range. You know it never complains but that's no reason to neglect it now, is it.;) As a matter of fact, I'm even going to use open sites and make it feel really happy.:D

Nice to see I'm not the only who likes to shoot ARs with iron sights.
Sure aimpoints are quicker but I can still shoot pretty fast and accuratly with the A2 sights.

Maybe one day I'll also get one of those A1's for the retro 'vietnam era' feel.

I have an early pencil M16 upper including original colt chrome bolt carrier (mid - late 60's as the barrel markings are on the bottom of the barrel) plus a minty buttstock and A1 grip.

The lower is Stag :( (not that there is anything wrong with it but I would prefer original Colt)

Shoots really nice.

I've owned a dozen or so over the years, form 8.5 to 20 in, Bushy's Colt's ASA and other's. The best out of all of them was my SP1, just like the one in the pic. No forward assist, A1 sites, thin barrel.

Undergiver, nice rifle, needs a 5/20 rd mag and it'll be good to go. What lower do you have?

Myself, I have an M16A1 clone with a PWA A1 style lower and government spares contract upper. Have to swap out a couple of small parts to make it more correct though.

I just bought a Bushmaster A3 20" (with HBAR and removable handle)... Looking forward to shooting it and personalizing it a bit! I have been in to IPSC/IDPA handguns for a long time but this is my first real rifle... Hope to have some fun, and use it for IPSC eventually.

I have a 20" upper that I need to find an A1 handguard for.

I can swap off the collaspable stock for my A1 stock for the older look if I so please :)
