AR15 Adjustable Gas Bolt Carriers

A sister company to PWS called Bootleg Inc is putting out gas adjustable BCs. Interesting concept. What do you guys think?


The Bootleg Lightweight Adjustable Carrier is machined from S7 Tool Steel, and features a four setting vent system to relieve excess gas pressure from suppressor use.

Can this be used instead of an adjustable gas block for fine tuning different loads eg running 300BLK sub and super loads. Or maybe someone's system is just way too over gassed?

The adjustable gas blocks are also used for tuning a competition rifle that is running for example IPSC minor power loads. Reducing the gas pressure to minimally cycle the action will reduce bolt momentum and may help one get back on target faster. This bolt with only 4 settings doesn't seem to have the flexibility to make it useful in this context.
