AR15 Barrel wear down

I was just looking through the exchange forums and I've noticed alot of guys stating how many rounds they've put through their AR15s in their sale ads. How many rounds can you expect to put through your AR15 barrel before the precisson starts to go on the firearm?

well ive put 5K plus thru my colt 9mm smg and it shoots as good as the day i bought it

My 16" .223 armalite barrel ass approx 800-1k through it and its still the same

I think its about 8k for chrome lined barrel before acuracy is starting to degrade.
I read few posts of AR15.com of pple having 20k and still going strong.

I have a LOT of rounds thru a SS barrel
If you not shooting a lot of high volumes of auto its not a big deal.

However for match rifle -- a lot of people will state that long range accuracy tapers off after 4-5k in a SS barrel --

I think people just like to have an idea about the barrel
