AR15 Barrel With Traditional Gas Blocks in Canada?

Oh don't worry, I won't. So are they off piston guns or not? Now it sounds like you're just making excuses for an out of spec product.

Caveat emptor

Where exactly does it say these are off anything, they look like new barrels with an unfinished gas port. I can't say what is common practice for AR-15 barrels as I've never been in the market for just a barrel, but with most aftermarket barrels for bolt guns, the assumption is that there will be some work required by a gunsmith. Why assume it's anything but an unfinished gas port?

Outstanding.

I can't honestly say if they are. These have been in our shop for 4 or 5 years and well who cares? As an AR expert (not sure of your credentials), no matter what information, data, what have you, I provide you're going to say I'm wrong, its out of spec, I don't like the colour etc, etc, etc.....

You don't want the barrel, you're not going to buy from us, so why are we having this conversation??? You don't like us, I get it.

What we advertise on our website is a 16" barrel, with a gas port drilled to .040 in the location for a mid-length gas system, the barrel markings, the barrels twist rate and pictures showing the product. Nothing more, nothing less. If this suits your criteria wonderful would love to sell you one, if it doesn't then I'm sorry it isn't.

There really isn't much else I can offer, certainly nothing you are going to like or agree with. You don't like the product, understood. All we were trying to do is offer someone an option for their build.

All the best,

The front sight base or gas block has been removed. AR15s are generally plug and play ie no gunsmithing required, unless youre having one turned from a blank. I have also never seen a barrel from any manufacturer that came with an undersized gas port that needs to be opened up. But don't take me word for it. Afterall we've heard from an "AR expert".

As for Questar, why are we having this conversation? I don't like you? I'm completely indiferrent and was done with my comments when you decided to educate us. I was simply commenting on a product someone else pointed out.

These questar barrels have been bothering me. They just didn't look right. I mean who makes a midlength with M203 notch?

So off to the interwebz I go and lo and behold these are ACR barrels. Likely from when Questar had some non restricted barrels made (I hear the quality was great!). Jeez, wonder why they can't remember where they came from? So much for the AR expert.
