AR15 buffer weight ???

I'm building my first ar15. I already own ar's but I want to build this one. My setup will be 10.5" barrel. I have to choose buffer..... Wich one I need ???

I've read that shorters barrels needs heavier buffer to slow down the bolt. Is that true?

All the research i have done during my 10.5" build pointed me to the spikes T-2 Heavy

I ran the ST-T2 in my 10.5" and 7". Worked great.

Doesn't depend on the length of the barrel, it depends on the length of the gas system - ie., how far down the barrel is the gas port drilled? So, you sorta got it but not quite.

So, getting a pistol length, or a carbine length gas system on that barrel?

Pistol would be shorter and call for a heavier buffer. *Probably*, or anyways most commonly, it will be a carbine length gas system and call for a carbine buffer

Been running my 10.3" Stag with a standard Stag carbine buffer without any problems.

My 10.5" setup will have carbine gas system, so carbine buffer seem to be ok.
