AR15 Build Project

Hi Folks

Let me first by saying that i am fairly new to the firearm worlds, in the past, i am mainly spending my time either watch action military movies and sitting 5 hours in front of computer playing COD or BF, but the passion for weapon has never changed since i was a little kid. I am recently got my PAL in August(both non-res and res).

So I finally had the opportunity to get what i always want as a kid, here is what I got over the past month.

Glock 17 Gen4 w/surefire x300
Tikka T3 Tactical w/Vortex Viper PST 6-24x56mm

NOW, I decided its about time to build a rifle that i was dream to have, the AR15.

I've been to various store in Vancouver area to search for a perfect ar15(even consider a Robinson Arms XCR), but whatever guns they have always has something that i don't want, ex: stock, grip, no rail, etc. So after talking to few guys in the store, i finally want to go ahead to choose various parts available on the market and build a custom one myself.

So after couple days of research over the Youtube and different gun makers website, I now come up with a list of items that I want to go over with you guys, it would be great if you can offer alternative option if you see anything that doesn't make sense or it's impossible to get it here in Canada.

Let me thanks all of you in advance for helping me achieve this goal.

Here we go, I divided into 3 major parts, Upper, lower, and accessories.
*My Budget is around $4000 for everything

Upper:
Daniel Defense
a)A4 Upper Receiver, Assembly
b)10.3'' 5.56mm Lightweight Carbine CHF Barrel - Stripped (Is it legal for a average civilian get this length of barrel, just for shooting in a range? if not, what is the shortest I can get here)
c).625 Clamp Low Profile Gas Block
d)Carbine Length Gas Tube Assembly
e)Complete Bolt Carrier Group Assembly
f)MK18 Rail Interface System II
g)Charging Handle Assembly

Lower:
Lower receiver(i haven't really decide on which one to go for, i have few option here: Armalite, Spikes Tactical, Rock River, DPMS)
Lower parts kit w/ 2 stage Tac trigger (Again, havent decide)
Spikes Tactical Buffer Tube kit
Magpul CTR
Magpul MIAD Grip
Magpul Ploymer MOE Trigger Guard

Accessories
Magpul ASAP, RSA Sling Attachment and Sling
Magpul AFG2 Foregrip
MBUS Gen2 Front and Rear Sight

Thats all i can come up with so far, so please if you can modify this list a little bit.

What was the question? What kind of build are you looking to use it for? No, a 10.5" upper is not illegal.

You've always wanted a Gen4 Glock since you were a kid? So that means you are a tween now? :p

I mean ar 15, i dont like Glock b4, USP is my fav, i liked it ever since i watched 24 when Jack used it.

But after i shot it in the range, i just like a simplicity of a striker action Pistol over any other.

Well, my question is hows the parts i chose, do i need to switch to a different manufacture made parts etc...

you can find your barrel (they've got 7.5 inch barrels too) and bolt carrier group here. Hell you can get it all from there. I get the feeling you like the look of the Quad rail though, but they are still something to consider(Free floated and LIGHT by the way). Above average quality, below average price, Canadian made. The lower, well a lower is a lower pretty much. Just don't get a plastic one. Trigger, many say you don't need to upgrade your trigger. It could be said that upgrading a trigger before getting used to the stock one is kind of silly. Like salting your food before you've even tasted it.

Another option with a budget like your could be Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply. They will handcraft the AR15 of your dreams for you.

Just a couple things worth considering.

Please also consider the North Eastren Arms Ar-15, they are making a 10.5 inch AR-15 with a free float rail for <$1000. CNC Billet upper and lower. Made in Canada.

Alot of members are considering getting one.
