Hey all.
I'm considering mounting a scope on the carry handle of my Colt...... but have a few questions if anyone has experience with these or reviews.
First..... they are obviously set high enough to clear the tall front sight , but is it too high ? does the scope need to be adjusted way down ?
Second..... how firm are they ? not move and shock resistant ?
Third.... where can I buy one and is there a better brand ?
Any input would be appreciated

They are a classic old school option, and work perfectly fine.

Your scope adjusts normally, you just have a larger Barrel/Sight relationship than you would normally, but that is not really important as long as you keep it in mind when you are shooting closer than you are zeroed.

You will probably want a cheek riser (or field dressing taped to your stock)

I would try to find a quality one like A.R.M.S. or another reputable brand.

Some will allow you to still use your iron sight, but it is not ideal.
Quality ones also have a rubber buffer between the nut and carry handle to allow for more friction in the fit.

Leupold makes a rail insert that bolts through the hole in the carry handle..
I haven;t mounted mine yet but I dry fitted last night and looks like you can leave your rear sight on
Then to remove all you have is one bolt
Looks like for me a box end wrench type bolt will be the best???
1/4 in. fine thread and a real short one
