Aside from the obvious need to keep the COL within specs for fitting in the magazine, is the AR sensitive to how close the bullet is to the grooves? Is it worth experimenting with overall length? The 75gr bullets I loaded were set to 2.26 rather than 2.250. Is it likely to make any difference in accuracy? I see at least two variable I'm working with here, near compressed loads and distance from bullet to lands. If the col is shorter, I will come closer to a compressed load, but have further for the bullet to jump to the lands. Powder is IMR4895 by the way.
