Ar15 gunsmith suggestions.

You know that AR15s are prohibited now, right? I wouldn’t waste my time assembling one as you cannot legally use it anywhere.

There’s not much to go wrong. The bolt catch pin can be tricky, but everything else is dead simple. YouTube will tell you more than most gunsmiths can.

Building an AR is about as hard as building something out of Legos :) about 35% of YouTube is building or cleaning AR's watch a video or 20. The 10/22 and AR platforms biggest selling point was their modularity and ease of building.

only reason for building one today is when the time comes to let it go for melting, a lower alone will be worth little maybe 50 dollars but a assembled one may be worth 150 dollars, who knows they may just lowball and grandfather, this method ensures the seizure is spread over many years instead of a couple months, the time will come when its showtime for hand over and who will and will not give them up along with many other firearms but I would not be looking for a gunsmith throwing money at something one can not use

Lots of assumptions here.

I didnt say that I was.looking for someone to build me an AR. So there is that. I am plenty familiar with the platform.

People love to give opinions instead of answers.

assembling it yourself is very easy. the issue with a gunsmith is that I dont think you will get an ATT to take it there

Since you already got your answer, but yet continue to reply ,why not at the very least, tell us what you fuced up?? Lol

You know,we got to know man..

good because you are not getting your Ar15 to a gunsmith

Thanks, champ! Never would have thought to even try.

Well, I kind of didnt get my answer, save for one person (and another who kindly reached out via PM).

I have an issue with a rifle that is NOT an AR, nor prohibited via FRT but is close enough that an AR smith/armorer would be able to offer suggestions as to how best go about correcting an issue re: excess play between the receiver timing slot / barrel timing pin. I had a question - nothing more. I didnt ask for anyone to assemble the rifle, or for me to take the rifle anywhere. Heck, it isnt even an AR, so all of those comments about not being able to take it anywhere are pointless.

Thanks for the input everyone.
