I was wanting to get my optic setup on my AR15 and I usualy just remove the bolt and look through the bore when setting up a scope, not really an option on an AR15 so I got to thinking and went to the dollar store and picked up a laser pointer for $1, my original thought was to just use bolt tension to hold it into the chamber but that was near imposible to get lined up.
while using it, it seemed to be about the same size as the bolt so a few seconds later i'm tore down and trying this out.

you can get these at every dollar store i've been to, so you should be able to find them too.

take the bolt out, if you don't know how this thread probably doesn't concern you.

slip it in, for test fit there is no need to tape the button down it'll come on once you push it into the BCG all the way (you will have to reassemble the rifle without the laser and put the laser pointer in through the ejection port or magwell, you will now have to hold the bolt open as the catch no longer works)

don't slam the bolt close (ride it closed) and it should be pretty darn close.

if it's snug don't force it, do at your own risk, I am not responsable if you get a laser pointer stuck in your BCG, mine came out ok, I had to hook a finger nail on the front edge on the cap and it came out with no effort.

I sighted it in down my hall, aslong as it gets me on paper i'm happy, if it doesn't I guess i'm out a dollar.
